About Chandler Baggett Whitford

Counselor, Author, Speaker, Children’s Minister - Daughter of the King

Chandler Baggett Whitford MA LCMHC

Hi, I’m Chandler,

I’m passionate about encouraging spiritual growth while nurturing mental health. I work with women (and men) who believe that Jesus is the answer! I help you grow closer to Jesus, and use psychological understanding to help you overcome mental health challenges like anxiety, depression, OCD, Burnout, and other diagnoses, in a way that aligns with your faith in Jesus!

I’ve always had a heart for the church, and I love seeing God’s people grow!

I was raised the daughter of a pastor, and came to know Jesus at an early age. And one of the things I have learned in life is that knowing Jesus doesn’t mean you don’t struggle or have problems. Jesus even told us, “In this world you will have trouble,” but the good news is He didn’t stop there! He promised us we could take heart because He has overcome the world! So many times it seems that people think that finding Jesus is the end of the journey, when it’s really just the beginning!

As a therapist, I know that people need more than Psychology alone can offer; we need faith!

As a spiritually integrated psychotherapist, I don’t discount psychology, but I include your faith and ask many questions about what you believe and why. I aim to give you space to process how your beliefs impact your life. As Christ followers, there is never something in our lives that the bible doesn’t speak to, but often we have a mixed set of beliefs from scripture, culture, and our personal history. Identifying Satan’s lies and sorting out where our beliefs come from can help us hold fast to scripture and claim the promises God has given us. It also empowers us to live a life of freedom based on the word of God!

How I Help Others

I help Christian women overcome anxiety, depression, and burnout, grow closer to God, and understand themselves better. I use Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy, Scripture, Ecotherapy, and CBT to help you make choices that align with your values and live the life of freedom God has for you!

Hey Y’all!

I am a counselor, author, teacher, and children’s minister. I love Jesus, and I love learning! But I also love sharing what I’ve learned and helping people apply biblical truths to their lives. I believe that God has given each of us unique gifts, talents, and abilities, and that we must learn to use them well to serve the world! If you don’t know what your gifts are or how to use them, or if you feel like there is something holding you back from living your life to the fullest, I want to help you!

I graduated from Moody Bible Institute in 2013 and then from Moody Theological Seminary in 2016. I went on to complete a residency program in Spiritually Integrated Psychotherapy at Wake Forest Baptist Health and finished my residency and fellowship in 2018.

I have been married to a wonderful man of God since August of 2018, and we serve at the church where I was raised. I love baking bread, from scratch (for real!) and seeing God’s work in our garden. In my free time, you can find me learning about homesteading and wishing I had a cute, cuddly cow. Working part-time as a therapist allows me to continue serving the Lord in other areas and using other gifts and talents as God leads. I have found God’s gifting in my life, and I know that I can help you do the same.

My God bless you and keep you. May He make His face shine upon you and give you peace.

FAQs

  • Born the daughter of a pastor in my early years we moved around a lot. But just before I started school my family moved to Ayden NC, and ever since I have called it home. Whenever we would leave the area I would be home as soon as I saw our steeple.

  • Many mornings you can find my husband and I at the local coffee shop - Folklore, enjoying a lavender honey latte and massive cheeseball.

  • So many people! My Dad, Mom, church leaders, school teachers, many people have helped me on my journey of who I am today. I am truly blessed with a community of faith I get to call family!

  • Humm… this can be a hard one. I love delicious food, made from scratch, and bonus points if it’s beautiful! Steak Alfredo, Carbanara, Quiche, Fried Pork Chops… Can you tell I love to eat?

  • It makes me smile when I see people come to know Jesus and dive deeper into His word. When I get to celebrate with fellow believers how truly AMAZING God is, and enjoy simply being in this moment God has given I am truly blessed.

Tea, Coffee, Gardens, The Beach, Mountain Views, Time with family and friends, Bread rising, Music Playing, Kids Laughing, A Good Book.

  • My time at Moody Bible Institute was so transformative for me, but the best part was the people. God showed up in amazing ways and gave me people to love and care for me. People who would take me in as family into their homes and into their hearts. While it was SO COLD, my heart was warmed with the love Jesu and the ability to worship Him with like-minded believers.

  • I was looking for truly versatile curriculum for our children’s worship and I wanted something I couldn’t find. So I wrote it! and then my husband joked, “You should publish this!” And with my niece and nephew as inspiration for my characters my first book series “When I Am Thankful” was published.
